I remember this from the film FAME. The King Charles cinema in London used to present ROCKY HORROR with audience participation every Sunday night, alternating with THE SOUND OF MUSIC. One man travelled to Leicester Square by tube dressed as a brown paper package tied up with string.

There was much audience participation in the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show by avid fans who would jump out into the isles to performers scenes including dance routines.

I went only once to the movie and I enjoyed watching the participants.

Another example: at a performance of 'Othello', a lone woman stood up and yelled, 'You fool, you fool - can't you SEE?'
