The vintage chanteurs are my favorite. Because I’m a retro hipster? No. Because they articulate so clearly and I can understand what they are saying. As do Bruel and Cabrel. (And surprisingly Stromae.) But Thérapie TAXI . . . Now back to my regularly scheduled yelling at those damn kids to get off my lawn.
Also a BIG Trenet fan, although apparently he was a jerk in real life. There are also some awful song translations in the other direction. "On s'est aimé comme on se quitte" (Joe Dassin) drives me crazy. ("The City of New Orleans") Not a word about a train.

Big fan of Charles Trenet - this was such a nice tribute.
Perfectly said. Very nice clip, and whilst I could understand most of it, the English subtitles were a perfect addition.
